Fried alligator sandWiCh

Fried alligator sandwich! Hello & happy Friday. I’ve been wanting to try out making a different type of meat, and I thought alligator would be a great place to try since it’s very easy to prepare. I originally was going to make a po’boy but I forgot to get some lettuce and tomatoes! So it’s just a regular sandwich now but that’s ok because it was still delicious. I’ve only eaten one so far but I’ll be coming for the second one momentarily. For the alligator meat I cut it with my shears, and prepared a coating with breadcrumbs, cornstarch, and flour. I also used a little bit of egg to help keep the coating on and so far so good ( I don’t feel sick yet). I always have pickles around so I added them as well as an old bay mayonnaise. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do should you make this. Thank you for reading and Happy Holidays!

  1. Rinse and pat dry alligator meat before cutting into small pieces with shears for easy cutting.

  2. Season with 1 teaspoon of old bay, pinch of sea salt, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Do not over season but be sure that the meat is well coated with seasoning.

  6. Add a few pieces of alligator meat in flour mix until well and add into the oil until golden brown or 5 minutes.

  7. For French bread cut in half, spread butter on both sides and set on pan until both sides are golden brown.

  8. Add Old Bay Mayo, Pickles, Fried Alligator pieces and enjoy!
